B. Cookie

A web browser cookie is a small text file that websites place in the web browser of your computer or mobile device. These cookies measure and monitor how our website and applications are used.

Cookies are used to collect data such as:

  • Information about searches;
  • The operating system;
  • IP address;
  • Device ID;
  • The pages viewed;
  • Browser type;
  • The Internet service provider;
  • Time;
  • If you reacted to an advertising material;
  • A referral URL;
  • The functionalities used or the activities carried out on the website/in applications.

They allow you to be recognized as the same user on the pages of a website, on different devices, between websites or when using applications. In terms of purpose, they are divided into three categories - functional cookies, analytical cookies and marketing cookies.

These cookies store information about the content you view and interact with, to remember your preferences and settings, or to analyze how you use online services.

Cookies are divided into "first party" and "third party":

  • First party cookies are cookies served by the domain owner, in our case, Funeralls.com. Any cookie we place is a "first party cookie".
  • Third party cookies are cookies placed on one of our trusted partner domains that we have chosen to allow to do so. These can be social media partners, promotion partners, security service providers, and more.

And these can be either "session cookies" or "permanent cookies":

  • Session cookies only exist until you close your browser, at which point your so-called "session" ends. They are then deleted.
  • Persistent cookies have different lifetimes and remain on your device after the browser is closed. On the Funeralls.com platform, we try to serve only persistent cookies (or allow third parties to serve persistent cookies) with a limited lifetime. However, for security reasons, or in other exceptional cases, we may sometimes give a cookie a longer lifetime.

Web browser cookies can store information such as your IP address or other identifier, browser type, and data about the content you view and interact with within digital services. By storing this data, web browser cookies can remember your preferences and settings for online services and analyze how you use them.

Along with cookies, we also use very similar tracking technologies. The website, emails and mobile applications may contain small transparent image files or lines of code that record how you interact with them.

These include "web beacons", "scripts", "tracking URLs" or "software development kits" (known as SDKs):

  • Web beacons go by different names. These are also known as web bugs, tracking bugs, tags, web tags, page tags, tracking pixels, pixel tags, 1x1 GIFs or clear GIFs. In short, these beacons are tiny graphic images of only 1 pixel that can be delivered to your device as part of a web page request, in an application, in the form of an advertisement or an HTML email.
  • Scripts are small computer programs included in our web pages that give those pages a wide variety of additional functionality. Scripts make it possible for the website to function properly. For example, scripts enable certain security features and enable basic interactive features on our website to function. Scripts may also be used for analytics or advertising purposes.
  • Tracking URLs are links with a unique ID number. These are used to monitor from which website you arrived at the Funeralls.com website or application you are using.
  • Software Development Kits (SDKs) are part of the source code of our apps, and unlike browser cookies, SDK data is stored in the app's memory. They are used to analyze how applications are used or to send personalized push notifications.

Functional cookies

These are cookies that are necessary for the websites and applications to work and must be enabled to be able to use our services.

Functional cookies are used to create technologically advanced and easy-to-use websites and applications that automatically adapt to your needs and preferences so that you can search and book easily. They also enable the activation of essential security systems and accessibility features.

Analytical cookies

These cookies measure and monitor how our website and applications are used. We use this information to improve our website, applications and services.

Marketing cookies

These cookies are used by Funeralls.com and our trusted partners to collect information about you over time, across multiple websites, applications and other platforms.

What options do you have?

To learn more about cookies and how to manage or delete them, visit allaboutcookies.org or the "Help" section of your browser.

In the settings of browsers such as Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox or Chrome, you can choose which cookies you accept and which you reject. Where these settings are found depends on the browser you are using.

If you choose to block certain functional cookies, you may not be able to use some features of our services.

In addition to certain settings we provide on Funeralls.com and in the applications, you can also opt out of certain cookies:

Advertisement

Your mobile device may allow you to limit the data shared for retargeting purposes in its settings. If you choose to do so, it is good to know that opting out of the online advertising network does not mean that you will no longer see or be subject to online advertising or market research. It just means that the network you opted out of will no longer deliver personalized ads to you based on your preferences and browsing pattern.

Some websites have "Do Not Track" features that allow you to tell the website not to track you. We are currently unable to provide 'Do Not Track' settings for your browser.
